Shared from the Curriculum Section notice dated October 27, 2026, for the first semester of academic year 115 (2026–27).
Missing one third of a course can lead to disqualification
Under Article 34 of the university’s academic regulations, a student whose absences reach one third of a course’s total semester teaching periods may not take that course’s semester examination. The semester grade for that course is zero; subsequent absences in that course are no longer added to the absence record.
The preceding rule does not apply to approved personal or sick leave, maternity leave, official leave or epidemic-prevention leave related to pregnancy, childbirth or caring for a child under three.
Disqualification and warning thresholds
The disqualification calculation uses records up to 13:00 on October 27, 2026. Absences, including personal and sick leave, reaching these totals lead to inclusion on the list:
- 2-credit course: 12 or more class periods.
- 3-credit course: 18 or more class periods.
Warning thresholds as of October 27 are:
- 2-credit course: 8 or more class periods.
- 3-credit course: 12 or more class periods.
Approved official, bereavement, maternity, menstrual, mental-health adjustment and epidemic-prevention leave are excluded from the absence record.
Students receiving a warning may still become disqualified if further leave or absences between October 27 and November 8, before the midterm examinations, reach the limit. Not receiving a notice does not exempt a student: a teacher’s report or system check confirming the threshold still results in action under the regulations and a zero semester grade for that course.
